Excursions:
Barranco del infierno:
Starting from Adeje there is a path that leads to the
Barranco del Infierno which will take you to a waterfall.This
lovely walk will takes you approx. 2 hours and where
you will find lots of vegetetio thanks to the water
that runs near it.

Las Cañadas:
This is an excursion which everyone who comes to Tenerife
has to do .The volcanic crater located at an altitud
of over 2000 m and with a diameter of 15 km reaches
it¨s peek with Teide a volcano that reaches 3.718
m making it the highest peek in Spain,normally always
covered in snow during the winter season.
You can reach it with a cable lift.
Los Gigantes:
29 km from Playa de las Américas is a modern
turistic area with a yacht harbour . It´s main
attraction are the 500 m high clifs which sunrounds
the north side of the harbour.
La Gomera:
The neigbouring island is well connected to Tenerife
as we have various fast ferry service leaving Los Cristianos
to San Sebastian de la Gomera,every day.
The Island has an abundant Laurisilva Forest which can
be studied by those interested in tropical plants and
unique plant species.
The barrancos with their incredible depth hlep the sheperds
transmit their messages to other shepherrds in the area
whistling to each other,making it a really unique language.
This is the island where Columbus stop to make drinking
water, before sailing off to America.
Masca:
This Village is located 43 Km from Playa de Las Americas
and it is like travelling in another time to a forgotten
world. We recommend those who like hiking to try Teno
Mountain.
Puerto de la Cruz:
This was the most important exporting harbour in the
Canary Islands. It was once a very rich area and is
the oldest touristic town on the island, making it canarien
balconies overlooking the San Telmo promenade, Plaza
del Charco, and the salt water swimming pools.
For the children we recommend to the visit Loro Parque,
a zoo with a very special style, where you can see parrots,
tigers, penguins, dolphins, sea lions, sharks and a
lot more wich makes for an unforgettable day.
You can also find in Puerto de la Cruz a Botanical Garden
for those who like to admire flowers and plants.
La Orotava:
Walking throught the old part of the town, you can contemplate
the famous canarian styled balconies and houses of the
wealthiest people on the island with it’s arquitecture
very well preserved.
The Orotava valley has a spectacular view of the well
known banana plantations.
We must no forget to mention the corpus festivities,
where people make carpets from sand and flower petals
all along the street of La Orotava.
La Laguna:
A university town which has been declared Historical
and Cultural Heritage and once was the capital of Tenerife.
It’s name comes from the fact that it was built
on a dry lake bed, making it much more humid and cooler
than any other area on the island.
It’s a lovely town with old houses and small streets,
and lots of shops and bars where the student ambient
reins.
Santa Cruz:
With over 200.000 habitants, Santa Cruz is the capital
of Tenerife. There you can shop, visit museum and do
much more.
In 2003 the Spanish Prince D. Felipe de Borbón
inaugurated the Opera House where you can enjoy a variety
of concerts such as classical music, opera or near the
Symphony Orchestra of Tenerife.
There is also a Trades Fair Pavilion where faires and
congresses are held througnout the year.

Las Teresitas, where the yellow sand was brought over
from the Sahara Desert
Gastronomía:
It’s worth discovering and
tasting traditional Canarian Food.
The dishes are based on the simplicity of making food.
We must not forget that for it’s situation Tenerife
makes good use of the ocean and what it is prepares
boiled or fried and accompanied by a “mojo”
sauce and the famous papa arrugada (potatoes). The sauce
is either green (garlic and coriander) or red (hot peppers).
You can also enjoy eating a cod casserole.
Another typical dish is the rabbit in salmorejo sauce,
ribs, potatoes and corn and not forgetting the carne
fiesta (party meat).
There is a whole selection of cheeses you can find which
make a great bite combined with a red wine from Tacoronte-Acentejo
or a white wine from the soth.
For those with a sweet tooth we recommend fresh tropical
fruits such as papaya , mangos, pineapples and the world
famous canarian bananas. Our deserts are also worth
trying.
